Getting from A to B

Today you can get from Inverness to the Black Isle in the course of a few minutes, using the Kessock Bridge. You can then leave the Black Isle about 15 minutes later, using the Cromarty Viaduct!

Before the advent of cars, buses and lorries, it was a different story. Black Isle people got around using ferries, boats, horse-drawn carts and carriages and good old 'shank's pony'. For a while, they even had a train service.
