Rosemarkie Beach Rosemarkie Beach is the place to go if you want to build sandcastles, skiddle about in rock pools, or generally soak up the sun.
The area has always attracted visitors. Guest houses sprung up at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries, at a time when it was fashionable to take a seaside holiday in this country. Before the completion of the Kessock Bridge visitors coming from the Inverness direction had to take the ferry crossing to North Kessock. Today everyone comes by road, having first negotiated the narrow streets of
Avoch, Fortrose and Rosemarkie. Even in the middle of winter, if it's a fine Sunday afternoon, you can be sure there will be a collection of cars parked along the front!
