Mini Post Office, Jemimaville Poyntzfield Estate, (previously Ardoch Estate) had been sold to the Munros in the 18th century.
A new mansion house was created – Poyntzfield House – and at the beginning of the 19th century, the newly-built group of estate houses became known as Jemimaville. The village was soon thriving. It had its own doctor, tradesmen, hotel (you can see it set back from the main line of houses) and for a short while, its own hand-loom weaving industry.
It even had its own dancing master! You can still see the two village water pumps at the side of the road, opposite the houses. This tiny Post Office is also situated opposite the houses.
