Alternatively, you might like to visit the Black Isle Wildlife & Country Park at Drumsmittal. You can get to it by taking the first turning on the right after you cross the Kessock Bridge. Just follow the signs.
Some of the wild animals you might be lucky to to spot in the Black Isle include foxes, wild cats, pine martens, red squirrels, stoats and roe deer.
At the park you can see a wide variety of animals and birds including rabbits, goats, pot-bellied pigs, deer, rare sheep, ducks, geese and swans. During the spring and summer months you can even see chicks hatching in incubators.
You are allowed to make contact with many of the animals and staff are on hand to answer questions and give advice. The centre includes a tearoom, gift shop and picnic area. It is open 7 days a week from March to November with reduced facilities available in the winter months.
